Denise Medina is originally from Southern California. She attended Loyola Marymount University, and upon graduating with her B.A. in 2013, she moved to Detroit. Denise completed two years of service corps work in the City of Detroit working specifically with a youth-leadership non-profit. Denise went on to attend Wayne State University Law School. During her time at WSU, she participated in a legal aid clinic that assisted cancer patients with their legal needs. Moreover, she interned for a legal aid that represented tenants living in the City of Detroit. She graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2018. After graduating, she joined a boutique law firm that specialized in real estate litigation and transactions. Thereafter, Denise joined another boutique law firm that also specialized in real estate litigation and transactions.

Currently, Denise lives in Birmingham with her longtime partner and two dogs, a Beagle and a Goldendoodle. She enjoys boxing in her free time, watching Detroit sports, and road trips to new cities. Denise and her partner have road-tripped to and from Los Angeles five times.
